About the Artist
About Me
Born in Minsk (Belarus), I graduated from the Minsk State Linguistic University and I worked as a teacher for several years in my home city. I moved to Ireland in 1998 and eventually settled in Waterford where I currently teach in secondary school.
I would consider myself an emerging artist. While I do not have a formal art degree, in my school and college years, for about 10 years, I attended a fine art studio where I studied classical drawing (pencil, ink, charcoal) and watercolour techniques. I am currently studying watercolour techniques under the Mastrius mentorship of a master & professional artist, Pablo Rubén (www.pabloruben.com & www.mastrius.com).
In terms of style, I am inclined to follow classical values and principles of fine arts and I would favour realistic depiction of the world that surrounds me. One of my favourite mediums is watercolour; I love the flow of colours, the fluidity and transience of the moment it offers. I also enjoy working with graphite pencil and ink pen; it is the precision and opportunity to explore the subject in detail that attracts me to these media.
Being of Belarusian-Irish heritage, I draw my inspiration from the beautiful landscapes and seascapes that surround me, both in Ireland and in Belarus, when I visit my family. Art has always been an essential part of my life. Since a very young age and throughout my life, I always felt the unconditional support and encouragement from my parents and my husband, my family, friends and mentors. I am happy to have reached a point in my life where I am ready to share my work with you all.
